Originally market village. Well-preserved historical centre with the gothic-renaissance church of St. Maria Magdalene, Renaissance town hall and half-timbered houses from 18th century. A km far from the town there is a baroque hunters chateau Humprecht. The literary festival "Šrámkova Sobotka" takes place in Sobotka every July.

The town of Turnov was established around 1250; during the rule of Albrecht of Valdštejn it was already an important commercial center. Polishing of precious stones and jewellery-making made Turnov a well known town in Europe. A Jewelry school was founded there at the end of 19th century.
On the central square there is a church of St. Francis of Assisi and Renaissance town hall, gothic church of St. Nicolas (later rebuilt in the baroque style), neo-gothic Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin with an unfinished tower.
The renaissance chateau Hrubý Rohozec is located on the northern edge of the town.
The exposition of the District Museum of the Bohemian Paradise includes a unique collection of precious stones, permanent exposition of jewels made of the Czech garnets, geology and archeology.

The first mention of the town of Lomnice can be found in the Chronicle of Dalimil.
There is a baroque chateau built by the family of Morzins in 1737. Not far from the square there used to stand the gothic church of St. Nicolas which was burnt down in 1590. A post-baroque cathedral was built on its place at the end of 18th century. On the central square there is also a town hall from the end of 19th century. In surrounded villages you can see lovely half-timbered houses. Lomnice is also well known for the biscuit production.

This small city was established at the beginning of 13th century as a farming and market centre for the Capuchin monastery Hradiště. The monastery was burnt out by Hussites in 1420. In 16th century a renaissance chateau was built there; it was damaged by the fire and MnichovoHradiste_z mek_mini.jpgduring 17th century rebuilt in the baroque style. On the first floor of the chateau there is a theatre hall, the library of Valdštejn brought here from Duchcov and a dining room with a renaissance ceiling. In 1711 a baroque arbour was built there in the garden.

Mentioned as a town since 1499. There is a square with a town hall from the beginning of 19th century, gothic church of St. Venceslas from 14th century, wooden bell Rovensko_pod_Troskami_2_mini.jpgtower known thanks to "the rebellious bells". Access to the bell tower is possible with a guide.

The spring Sedmihorka gave the name to the spa that was founded here in 1841. The spa guests - particularly the Czech writers of the time (Eliška Krásnohorská, Jan Neruda, …) - started to call this region "Bohemian Paradise".

A little village 2 km far away from Sobotka belongs to the Memorial Reservation of Folk Architecture thanks to its eighteen well-preserved half-timbered houses.

A spa town founded at the beginning of 14th century is located 5 km from Jičín. It was named after prehistoric ironmongery. The town burnt down in 1826; the current empire form of the historical centre was created later. An originally roman church was rebuilt in the baroque style. Half-timbered cottages from 18th century can be seen here too. The town of Železnice is known for its treatment centre for children after the brain paralysis.
