Chateau
Jičín
Built at the beginning of the 17th century, later destroyed
by an explosion of gunpowder. In the 1633 during the rule
of Albrecht of Valdštejn there was an early baroque chateau
built on its place. Nowadays it houses
the district museum and gallery with the exposition of
paintings of academic painter Radek Pilař.
Hrubá
Skála
Built on the sandstone rocks at the place of the original
gothic castle from the 14th century, reconstructed into a
renaissance chateau, then in the middle of the 19th century
again re-gothicised. Nowadays a private hotel. The starting
point for visits to the area of the
Hrubá Skála rock town.
Hrubý Rohozec (national cultural monument)
Originally early gothic castle founded around 1280, rebuilt
into the renaissance chateau. Exhibition documents the development
of residential culture and clothing from the past 400 years.

Sychrov (national cultural monument)
The Baroque chateau was built at the end of 17th century,
rebuilt and expanded in romantic Gothic style. An English
park with exotic tree species belongs to the chateau. The
neo-gothic interiors, the Rohan gallery - the largest collection
of French portrait paintings in the central Europe and the
memorial hall of Antonín Dvořák are open to the public.

Staré Hrady
Originally gothic castle from the 14th century, later rebuilt
into a renaissance chateau. In 1960 began the reconstruction
of the devastated complex. The Literary Archive of the Journal
of National Literature and the exposition of works of poet
Jaroslav Vrchlický are housed there.

Humprecht
Small baroque hunters' chateau from 17th century on a basalt
hill at Sobotka. Exhibition of the
noble Černín family and the museum of the region of Sobotecko.

Dětenice
Originally renaissance stronghold, rebuilt into a baroque
chateau at the end of the 18th century. There is a collection
of paintings, weapons and period furniture.

Mnichovo
Hradiště
Originally renaissance chateau, at the turn of 18th century
rebuilt into its current baroque shape. A Capuchin monastery
complex, Chapel of St. Anne with a tomb of Albrecht of Valdštejn,
English park and an empire theatre are a part of the chateau
complex. Exposition of the Valdštejn library from Duchcov,
collection of Delft faience, painting collection.

Brada
The Gothic castle used to be the residence of the Načeradec
family. Today there are statues of St. Peter and Paul in memorial
of the battle of 1866.
Bradlec
Ruins of the castle from the 14th century, the former residence
of the Markvartic family. Later the castle was abandoned.
Today we can find only the remains of a gate and a tower

Kumburk
Ruins of a gothic castle standing on the top of a basalt hill
near Nová Paka. The remains of the main tower have been preserved
as well as the underground rooms. There is also memorial plaque
of poet Karel Hynek Mácha.

Pařez
The remains of a Medieval castle from the end of 14th century
at the edge of the Prachov rocks.
Rooms carved into the rock have been preserved. Remains of
walls and a tower.
Veliš
The castle was founded at the beginning of 14th century, destroyed
in the 17th century by Imperial decree. Pieces from the stone
and bronze ages found there.
Kost
One of the most well-preserved and most beautiful gothic castles
in the Czech Republic. Founded in 14th century on a sandstone
rock. The current exhibition shows a renaissance kitchen and
displays of historical weapons from military museum.

Valdštejn
The oldest castle in the Bohemian Paradise, nowadays the ruins of a gothic castle, which was founded in 13th century. Two stone bridges with copies of baroque statues.

Trosky
(national cultural monument)
The ruins of the castle from 14th century set on two volcanic
peaks are one of the symbols of the Bohemian Paradise. Today
only two towers called Baba (the Old Woman) and Panna (the
Maiden) can be seen. Trosky ranks among the most visited castles
in the Czech Republic.

Drábské světničky
The castle from the 15th century built on the tops of seven sandstone blocks, which were connected to each other by wooden bridges, stairways and passageways. Only 18 rooms carved in the rock have been preserved to these days. The site offers a wonderful view of the surroundings.

Frýdštejn
The castle was founded in the second half of 14th century,
at the end of 16th century abandoned. Nowadays only remains
of a cylindrical tower, walls and bridge.

Valečov
The ruins of a gothic castle built at the end of 13th century
on the tops of three rocky blocks below the hill of Mužský.
A part of the castle was carved into the rock, a part was
wooden. It was abandoned in the middle of 17th century.

Vranov
The ruins of a guard-castle founded in 15th century on the Vranov Ridge; abandoned at the end of 15th century. The ruins of the castle were turned into the Pantheon around 1820. Nowadays a neo-gothic chapel, memorial plaques and monuments can be seen here.

Boučkův statek (Malá Skála)
A half-timbered farmstead is typical for the folk architecture of this area. Permanent exposition showing the history of the region of Maloskalsko, art gallery, wooden Nativity Scene.

Dlaskův
statek (Dolánky u Turnova)
A typical display of a half-timbered folk architecture. The exhibition of a farmstead interiors and milling.

Karlov
A village near the town of Lomnice nad Popelkou, memorial reservation of folk architecture.
Kopicův statek (Kacanovy)
A half-timbered farmstead in the village of Kacanovy (Hruboskalsko region). There are sculptured stone reliefs (also called "organ") not far from the farmstead.
Šolcův statek (Sobotka)
The two-story house is the family house of the poet Václav Šolc. Nowadays a gallery.
Vesec
u Sobotky
A unique complex of half-timbered houses in the village of Vesec; memorial reservation of folk architecture.
Bell tower (Rovensko pod Troskami)
The rebellious bells in the wooden bell tower are fastened in such a way that the heart points to the heaven. The reversed bells were a punishment for a revolt against a violent re-catholisation.
