Prachovské
skály (nature preserve)
The most famous rocky district of the area is situated approximately 7 km from Jičín. There are many tourist trails that will lead you through the rocky town and will reveal the most beautiful view points.

Hruboskalské skalní město
Was proclaimed Natural Preserve at the occasion of The Earth Day in 1998. One of the most popular tracks is The Golden Trail of the Bohemian Paradise which is full of fine view points. The most popular one is Mariánská vyhlídka, showing the panorama of the Hrubá Skála Chateau and the Trosky castle.
Borecké skály
Protected area with the rocky town is situated on the hill
of Bor, cca 1 km from the town of Rovensko pod Troskami.
Klokočské and Betlémské skály
Natural preserve cca 4 km far from the town of Turnov
is formed by 1,5 km long rocky wall with lots of caves and
with ruins of the rocky castle Rotštejn.
Suché skály
Earlier called Master´s Organ (Kantorovy varhany), declared
a national natural monument in 1965. Very popular climbing
area.
Vranovský hřeben
Rocky massif with the ruins of Pantheon is a part of the natural
park Maloskalsko.¨
Kalich (Besedické skály)
The rocky labyrinth near the village of Besedice (region Maloskalsko)
with the sanctuary called Kalich.
Příhrazské skály
Natural preserve with many high rocky towers and deep canyons
is situated close to the town of Mnichovo
Hradiště and the Mužský hill.
View points
Zebín
Basalt peak (399 m) nearly 2 km from Jičín. Baroque Chapel of St. Mary Magdalene on the top offers a wonderful view into the Jičín region.
Veliš
Hill (430 m) with the remains of a gothic castle, cca 3 km far from Jičín.
Tábor
Forested peak (678 m) with a baroque church and a lookout
tower is located near the town of Lomnice
nad Popelkou. There is the Calvary leading to the top
of the hill.
Kozákov
The highest peak of Bohemian Paradise (744 m), since 1985
national natural monument. The lookout tower on the summit
offers magnificent view. Kozákov is also known as a finding
place of the precious stones.

Kopanina
657 m high peak with the stone lookout tower from the 19th century offering a pretty view into Maloskalsko region.

Libosad
Protected park with a baroque summer residence on the north-eastern
edge of Jičín, connected to the town
with a 2 km long lime-tree alley. The residence was built
for Albrecht of Valdštejn. In the park there are rare plants
being cultivated.
Jinolické ponds
The group of three ponds (Oborský, Němeček, Vražda) below
the Prachov rocks. The first two of them are much favoured
as a summer camping site
Podtrosecká údolí
The unique canyon valley with the system of eight ponds: Věžák,
Nebák, Vidlák, Krčák, Hrůdka, Rokytnický, Dolský and Podsemín.
The shores of the ponds are often formed by sandstone rocks.

Bozkov
dolomite caves
The karst caves are located in the village of Bozkov (Semily
district). The labyrinth of underground passages and hollows
has unique ribbed, honeycombed and reticular modeled walls
and ceilings, supplemented with delicate limestone ornamentation,
also creates eccentric stalactites and stalagmites. The lake
(30 x 12 meters) is the largest underground lake in the Czech
Republic.

Valley of Plakánek (The Weeper)
Picturesque valley below the Kost
castle, lined by sandstone rocks. Ponds in the surroundings
of the castle played an important role in the defense of the
castle.
