RUMCAJS TRACK

The track starts in the village of Mladějov that can be reached by train or by bus. A bus stop in the centre of the village (nearly 500 m from the train station) is our starting point. You will follow the red-marked track passing under a viaduct and leading through a valley to Loveč. You will be offered lovely views of the whole middle part of the Bohemian Paradise (castle of Trosky, peak of Kozákov).
Behind Loveč starts the ascent through woods; the red trail will lead you below the top of Střelečská Hůra, which is of volcanic origin. You will descend to a small road and following a path past a former stone-pit you will reach the rocky castle of Pařez. Today there are only remains of medieval fortress. You will follow the red trail along a path at the edge of a forest and later through woods to the crossroad Na Stájích. You will continue along the green trail to the hotel Skalní Město and later along the yellow-marked path to the village of Prachov. If you wish to visit the Prachov Rocks you have to follow the red trail leading from the crossroad Na Stájích to the bathing pool U Pelíšku and to the Tourist Cottage, where there is an entrance to the Prachov Rock Town. The red trail will lead you through the whole rock town.
From Prachov you will follow the blue trail along the road. At the crossroad behind the village, which is the starting point of Cipískův circuit, you will turn left and continue along the green trail. The track leads through the woods to the view point of Václav Čtvrtek situated on the top of the rock of Přivýšina. You will descend to a saddle and reach the blue trail again. The blue trail will lead you past the cave of Rumcajs and further to the village of Brada and Rybníček. You will cross the main road Jičín - Turnov by the restaurant U Rumcajse and follow the blue track along the river of Cidlina. You will reach the town of Jičín from the north, past a bathing pool and the pond of Kníže. The trail ends by the information board behind the Valdická Gate.

CIPÍSKŮV CIRCUIT

Families with young children will appreciate this short circuit called "Cipískův" (Cipísek is the little son of Rumcajs).
You will start in the village of Prachov; the blue track will lead you to the edge of the village. At the crossroad you will turn left and continue along the green trail past the rock of Přivýšina. You will descend to a saddle and continue along the blue track, past the cave of Rumcajs to a church in the village of Brada. You will turn right by the church; a path below the peak of Brada will lead you back to the saddle below Přivýšina. Follow the blue trail to get back to Prachov.
